Here are the most popular questions we get asked by people who are looking for a dishwasher best suited to their needs:
When browsing for dishwashers, you’ll be confronted by a range of brand names you recognise, as well as several you won’t.
There are lots of European manufacturers producing dishwashers due to their prevalence on the continent (in Germany over 75% of households have a dishwasher!), so these names may not be immediately recognisable to you.
However, there’s no one dominant player when it comes to dishwasher manufacturer; it’s a highly competitive market and there are lots of good options from Miele and the Bosch 800 Series, to cheaper Essentials models - and lots in between. You are almost spoilt for choice. Our guide to the best dishwashers (UK) will hopefully help you to narrow this search a little.
The best dishwasher for you and your household depends on your cleaning requirements, budget, space and usage.
You will have to identify your individual needs - such as how many place settings you need? Do you require an Eco wash? Are you going to be cleaning pots and pans? Do you need a wine glass rack?
We always say it's best to make a list of what you are looking for before going on the purchasing journey. In doing so you will find the right dishwasher for you.
Basically, there’s no single best model available, as what suits one household may not work for another. The key to identifying the best, most appropriate and relevant dishwasher for you is to research thoroughly and make an informed decision before you buy.
It used to be that you simply lined up your kitchenware in the dishwasher, put a tablet in the drawer and pressed the "on" switch; but now dishwashers can do a whole lot more than just rinse your plates. They have really developed over the past decades.
Features now found commonly found in the best dishwashers and the questions you should ask yourself before buying one, are the below:
If any of these are relevant to you, consider finding a washer with them included.
As you can see buying a dishwasher is no easy job and there are lots of things to consider.
There’s no set price range that qualifies a dishwasher as quality or not, but roughly speaking, you get what you pay for.
Budget models start at around £200, but for a specifically designed WiFi-connected eco-friendly model, you could pay up to £1,500. Also, prices for fully integrated dishwasher options and freestanding dishwasher options vary.
A fully integrated dishwasher is a dishwasher that is ‘hidden’ behind a cupboard door that matches the rest of the kitchen or utility room’s aesthetic.
These integrated dishwasher models are extremely common in new-build houses and are often offered as part of a new kitchen fitting to give a consistent look throughout. In some cases, the integrated dishwasher is provided as part of the kitchen, but in most, any dishwasher can fit into the space behind the door or have the door directly applied to the front of it.
The best way to load a Dishwasher is often discussed and rarely agreed upon, but there are some golden rules you should know before you embark on your first wash load. Consider the following:
Hope that is helpful!
